Multiple nominations: I would like to nominate Mr. Willie Fred Clayton. Every now and then a NEXT LEVEL individual walks through the door and brings with them energy, charisma, and rejuvenation to all they encounter. I am describing the day I met Willie Clayton! Mr. Clayton had been lured away from his home town of Thomasville, making the transition to education from a successful career in professional basketball abroad. He walked in the door with great expectations and a deep passion for educating young people. He came to Colquitt County and hit the ground running! He was coaching middle and high School basketball, Gentleman's Club Advisor, member of the PBIS Team, and the largest surge of energy in the 7th grade social studies dept. that had been observed in many years. He often acted as facilitator in our PLC meetings and he has purposely prepared himself as a future leader in the Colquitt County School System. He completed 4 very successful years at WJWMS, before transitioning to C.A. Gray Jr. High at the beginning of this school year. He is an unsung hero in my eyes. I have never seen a more dedicated and passionate educator who gives everything to his students, and brings his A game every day! He is an example of HOPE for the future of education. Our school system is very blessed to have him serving our young people. His unwavering love and passion for his students are truly inspiring. He naturally takes on a leadership role and quickly becomes a role model for everyone around him. Willie never waits to be asked for help or encouragement; he offers support without hesitation. He never seeks recognition or a thank you for his efforts. He is genuinely a difference maker in the lives of his students.
