Jason Suber is a phenomenal teacher. He is creative, engaging, and a difference maker in many students' lives. I have had the privilege of working and being a guest in his science and social studies classes this year. The amount of energy and time he puts into making the standards come to life is like nothing I have ever seen. Students love going to his class.
One lesson I observed was a lesson on vertebrate groups. He hosted a court case for the students to provide evidence to answer the question: Are bats mammals or birds? I was the guest judge and got to witness him presenting information to the students to allow them to read and inspect to inform their decision. He had x-rays, images, physical attributes, and a preserved bat. The evidence presented to the students was deliberated and they all came to the conclusion that a bat is a mammal. The lesson was so much fun. Students were engaged and were actively learning.
This is one of many examples I could provide. Students are learning so much from Mr. Suber. I am excited for my own child to have him next year when he gets to 5th grade.
