Lori is a true hidden hero of the Colquitt County School System. As the Gifted Tester for every school in Colquitt County, she plays an incredibly important role in identifying and supporting students who are referred for the Gifted Program.
Lori works diligently with each student she tests, creating a positive, welcoming, and encouraging testing environment. She takes the time to talk with students, put them at ease, and encourage them to do their very best. Her goal is not simply to administer a test, but to create an environment where each child feels comfortable enough to relax, focus, and show what they truly know and can do.
One of the qualities that makes Lori so exceptional is her ability to recognize that every child is different. If she notices that a student is not mentally focused, emotionally ready, or developmentally mature enough at that moment to complete the testing successfully, she does not simply push the child through the process. Instead, she makes the thoughtful decision to stop the testing and reschedule it for a later date. She understands that giving a child time to grow and become more prepared can make all the difference.
Lori's patience, compassion, dedication, and commitment to doing what is best for each student make her an invaluable part of the Colquitt County School System. Although much of her work happens quietly behind the scenes, her impact on students and their educational opportunities is significant.
