Ben Pope is a true difference maker in Ignite College and Career Academy. In 2022, Ben had a National Champion Grain Production Proficiency Award Winner. This same student, as an alumni, will be recognized for the coveted American FFA Degree. He will officially receive the American Degree and the Golden Key at the 99th National FFA Convention this October! He was Sumter County High School STAR Teacher in 2025 and Teacher of the Year 2025-2026. Ben leads with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to help his students be the best they can be. Mr. Pope has worked very hard to implement the first ever Livestock Show Team at Sumter County High School/Ignite College and Career Academy. In October, Mr. Pope will take students to the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana where two of the students will be recognized with Gold Ranked in the Proficiency Award Categories. Mr. Pope is always contributing to the success of others, whether in the classroom, FFA, or serving our community. He is making a difference in the lives of young adults in Sumter County. Ben's dedication to his students, FFA members (old and new), co-workers, and administration makes him a positive "Hidden Hero" in his school and community.
