Venesia Riddick is truly a Hidden Hero at Liberty College & Career Academy! While her official title is bookkeeper, that title does not begin to describe the many hats she wears or the impact she makes on our school each day. With numerous career pathways and four Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), our school is a busy place. Mrs. Riddick plays a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
I often describe Mrs. Riddick as a one-woman band! She handles purchase orders, money deposits, staff and personal leave forms, fundraising paperwork, and countless other responsibilities. She also serves as our lead secretary, assists with parent drop-off and car drivers, manages front office responsibilities, and is often the first friendly face visitors see when entering our school.
What makes Mrs. Riddick a true Hidden Hero is her willingness to go above and beyond, even when her plate is overflowing. She has stayed late to process last-minute purchase orders so students could participate in CTSO competitions, completed personnel paperwork, and stepped up whenever she is called upon. She does these things not for recognition, but because she genuinely cares about our school and students.
As a CTSO advisor, I know firsthand how much work happens behind the scenes to provide meaningful opportunities for students. Mrs. Riddick helps make those experiences possible while juggling countless other responsibilities.
Mrs. Riddick is the kind of person whose work often goes unnoticed because she makes everything look effortless. She is our problem-solver, our helping hand, and the person everyone depends on.
Every school has people who shine in the spotlight, but behind their success are people like Mrs. Riddick who make it all possible. She is the definition of a Hidden Hero, and it is time for her to receive the recognition she so greatly deserves!
